SGR Training Member List

Government works better, when governments work together. SGR Training is a large and growing number of Human Resource and Employee Development Professionals working together to make their cities more successful in the training arena  Through the power of cooperation, SGR Training has been able to develop and offer exceptional quality training at a very low cost.  

Becoming a Member of SGR Training

Membership in SGR Training is open to any city, non profit organization, or other public agency. There is a very low cost to join SGR Training (only $125 per year for your entire organization).  All you have to do is email luke@governmentresource.com and request a member registration form.  Once you have filled out the member registration form, a link to your organization's website will be added to the SGR website, and you will be added to our email network list so you will immediately begin receiving notifications of meetings, training and other opportunities through SGR.

Membership in SGR Training is held by the city or agency, and not by any individual person. Although membership is very inexpensive, being a member of SGR Training brings a number of benefits to your city, including:

Deep Discounts on Training Fees -  SGR Training members typically pay up to 80% less for training classes than non members do.  Although actual registration fees vary by class, depending upon cost of speakers, etc, a typical training registration fee is $149-$159 for a non-member and only $79-$89 for an employee of a member agency.   

Participation in quarterly (in some cases every six months) regional steering committee meetings at no cost -  Not only do these regional meetings provide members the chance to be actively involved in shaping and developing SGR Training's future course offerings, they also provide the opportunity to hear outstanding speakers on current topics in the HR profession.  Previous presentation topics have included diverse issues such as succession planning, training skills, deferred compensation fiduciary responsibilities, section 125 plan benefits, and many others.  The quarterly steering committee meeting is also a great place to trade information and stay up to date on what your peers are doing on issues such as compensation adjustments and health care cost management and any other topic you find of interest. Typically, an HR Roundtable is a standard part of these meetings. 

SGR TRAINING News Scans at no cost -  SGR Training subscribes to a number of news clipping services for municipal topics, and forwards HR related news stories on to SGR Training members.

Advance Notification of Workshops and Training Opportunities - Because of outstanding quality, and low cost, there is always a high demand for SGR Training courses from both member and non member agencies.  As a result, virtually all SGR Training course offerings sell out very quickly.  One of the benefits of your membership in SGR Training is advance notification of upcoming training classes and workshops.  As a member, you will typically get a full week's notice and advance registration opportunity for upcoming classes, before the class is announced to other cities. 

Free Newsletters to Supervisory and Customer Service Graduates - SGR sends electronic versions of our newsletter six times annually. These newsletters review courses your employees participated in and announces additional development opportunties your employees may find of interest.  

Free Job Postings Link to Your Website - All SGR Training members have a link posted on the SGR Training website on a page titled "job opportunities".  Each logo is a direct link to each member city's job posting page or city website, making it easy for prospective employees to explore job opportunities with all SGR Training cities from one convenient website.
