James Fisher became the City Manager for the City of Murphy on March 31, 2008. He had previously served as City Administrator for the City of Bee Cave for 9 ½ years and has served in city management since 1989. Mr. Fisher is a Credentialed Manager with the International City/County Management Association and is a Certified Public Manager from the William P. Hobby Center for Public Service of Texas State University. Mr. Fisher is active in the Texas City Management Association serving as the Ethics Chair from 2005-2008 and was selected as the Texas City Administrator of the Year in 2004. Mr. Fisher is also active in the International City/County Management Association having served on numerous committees. In addition to his public administration activities, Mr. Fisher is active in his church as a bible study leader and is currently serving on the Murphy Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is married to Christi Beth, his wife of 19 years and has a daughter, Audrey, age 13 and a son, Daniel age 10.
