John Teel currently serves with Eastfield College as National Science Foundation Program Director and as Vice President of Teel Consulting. In that role he has provided comprehensive project oriented consulting for various cities including a grant compliance assessment for the City of El Paso and an Animal Control Operations Assessment for the City of Arlington. He previously served as Public Health Manager for the City of Irving, as Director of Health for Garland and as Technical Services Supervisor for Garland. In these roles he teamed with Parkland Hospital to create the first Community Oriented Primary Care Clinic (primary care for indigents), worked with the US Department of Homeland Security to create Texas first municipal bioterrorism/WMD rapid response team that combined the Police Bomb Squad, Fire HazMat team, and the Health Department. John has published 12 articles in refereed professional health journals (Journal of Environmental Health), has presented over two dozen scientific and management papers at professional association annual conferences, and co authored the 2009 Best Practices Manual for Pandemic Influenza Planning for H1N1. John holds an Associate of Science degree from Eastfield College, as well as a BS in Zoology/Earth Science and a Master of Science in Biology/Chemistry from Texas A&M Commerce.
