Paulette Owens-Holmes is a seasoned professional with a career that spans over 20 years as a senior level executive in local government. As a versatile, visionary, and innovative leader, her professional experiences reflect substantive achievements in the development and implementation of leading-edge programs in customer service, diversity, organizational design, performance management, executive training, succession planning, and teambuilding.
During her tenure in local government, Paulette performed at nearly every level ranging from administrative assistant in Denton, Texas to interim city manager in Mankato Minnesota. Additionally, Paulette has held executive level positions in Denton, Arlington, McKinney, and Cedar Hill, Texas including Human Resources Director for each city. Recently retired from the City of Cedar Hill, the former Assistant City Manager is resuming her career as a performance management consultant.
Paulette is recognized by her colleagues as an engaging trainer and facilitator for community, private and public organizations, notably with the Dallas Community College District, where she has been a part-time trainer and volunteer presenter since 2002. Included in Paulette’s experience repertoire are several years as an associate consultant for North Carolina based Irvin Goforth and Irvin, LLC Training and Communications. The firm collaborates with the public and private sector to clarify their critical business and human resources needs
Paulette possesses a master’s degree in education and psychology. Additionally, she merited a myriad of professional leadership, organizational analysis, and training certifications. She is currently pursuing certification with the International Coach Federation (ICF) for executive coaching. A little known fact about Paulette, she began her career in education as a secondary teacher, counselor, and championship coach of several high school sports. Musing she often comments to colleagues, “I continue to teach, coach, and mentor, just in a different venue with a different learner. “
Paulette’s favorite past times include martial arts, inspirational reading, walking and spending quality time with her family. A creative writer, Paulette aspires to contribute her professional insights in human resources and executive leadership articles for various business publications. She envisions writing a children’s book illustrated by her son, an aspiring artist.
