Price has been with SGR as a consultant since September 2017. Price retired as Police Chief for Midland, Texas with thirty-seven years in municipal law enforcement and ten as the Chief of Police. Price began with the Midland Police Department on September 1, 1980, and served his entire career with that department. During his career, Price served in all areas of departmental operations and administration.
Price is a graduate of Sam Houston State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Police Science in 1980. In 1993, he obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Price is a graduate of the 155th session of the FBI National Academy, a graduate of the 25th session of the Senior Management Institute for Police sponsored by Harvard University and the Police Executive Research Forum, and a graduate of Session 60 of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar. Additionally, he is a member of various professional organizations to include the International Association of Chiefs of Police and previously served as the Region 4 Director for the Texas Police Chiefs Association. Price was an assessor for CALEA for five years.
Price and his wife Kathy have two grown children, Trey of Dallas and Brittany of Midland. Price and Kathy are licensed realtors and love to travel.
