Lea County, New Mexico Seeks Assistant Finance Director

In their new Assistant Finance Director, Lea County seeks an accessible and forward-thinking leader with a strong foundational knowledge of public accounting and municipal finance. The ideal candidate will lead collaboratively by combining individual strengths of a diverse team and uniting around organizational goals, while creating a results-oriented environment of personal pride and accountability. Exceptional skill in customer service, relationship-building and communication are essential for success in this role. The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with course work in finance, accounting, or a closely related field and have at least 2 years of advanced level, professional work experience
in municipal and/or public accounting. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. Supervisory experience and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) designation are preferred qualifications. All Lea County employees must establish and thereafter maintain a place of residence within the County.
