Cora Scott

Director of Public Information and Civic Engagement

Cora joined the City of Springfield in January 2012 after an 18-year tenure with Mercy Health. She became the City’s first Public Information Director to also be responsible for civic engagement. As such, she served as one of the primary spokesperson’s following the Joplin, Missouri tornado in 2011. Cora had served St. John’s Health System in similar public relations roles since 1993, focusing for two years on health plan communication and employer relations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Drury University.
