Dianne Costa served on the Highland Village City Council from 2002-2010 with the last 4 years as Mayor. She was owner of Counseling, Education and Mediation Associates of North Texas before retiring in 2016. 

She has represented the City of Highland Village, Denton County and the region in a variety of areas. Along with the city council and staff, she was instrumental in the expansion of Texas Highway 2499 and the city’s active participation with DCTA. As mayor, Costa was asked to serve on the National Multi Modal Transportation Steering Committee (NMMTSC) as part of a national grassroots group of elected officials seeking an overhaul of U.S. transportation policy. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies with a minor in Government from Texas Woman’s University.

In 2017 she was asked to serve on the board of the Denton County Transportation Authority as the Highland Village representative. Last month Mrs. Costa was voted in as Chairman of the board of DCTA. 

She represents this region as one of the three transit agencies in Dallas-Ft. Worth. 

She and her husband, Dr. Dennis Costa, have lived in Highland Village for 25 years. She is the proud NoNa of 20 grandchildren, with 10 of those living in Denton County.
