Founding Attorney at EngageHR Law
Lisa Bergersen has 30 years of experience in human resources and employment law. She is currently the founding attorney at EngageHR Law, LLC in Delafield, Wisconsin. Lisa serves employers in the public and private sectors in all areas of employment law and human resources consulting, as well as acting as an independent workplace investigator.
Prior to her current practice, Lisa served as the Human Resources Director for the City of Pewaukee from 2008-2019 where she developed the Human Resources function for the City and implemented numerous strategic HR initiatives and policies. Prior to her tenure at Pewaukee, Lisa was a Partner with the employment law firm of Lindner & Marsack in Milwaukee for 18 years where she represented numerous public and private sector clients in all aspects of labor and employment law.
Lisa is certified by the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). For twenty years, Lisa was a contributor to the Wisconsin State Bar’s Employment Law Book Series on State and Federal Employment Statutes. She also served two years as co-chair of the Metro Milwaukee SHRM - HR Departments of One group. Lisa is a recent graduate of the State Bar’s G. Lane Ware Leadership Academy (2018-2019), and completed the Association of Workplace Investigators’ Training Institute (AWI-CH)(2019).
Lisa is a member of SHRM, Metro-Milwaukee SHRM, the Association of Workplace Investigators, the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association (NPELRA) and Wisconsin Chapter (WPELRA), and the Solo and Small Firm, Local & State Government, and Labor & Employment Law sections of the Wisconsin State Bar.
