Troy Riggs is an experienced Public Safety Professional with a demonstrated history of working in a variety of governmental positions. He is skilled in Crisis Management, Media Relations, Intelligence Analysis, Government, and Emergency Management. served for more than 30 years within public safety. He retired from the Louisville Metro Police Department after 20 years of service. Mr. Riggs has served in numerous capacities, including Chief of Police in two cities and Director of Public Safety for two major American cities. He is recognized as a national leader in crisis management, use of data, and community relations.

Troy Riggs began his career as a police recruit in 1989, quickly rising through to the ranks. He has served as a police chief in two jurisdictions and as a Director of Safety in two of America’s largest cities. He is recognized as a national leader in data-led government, media relations, community engagement, and crisis management. In his 30 years of public safety, he has testified before Congress and provided security oversight for major events, including the Kentucky Derby, Indianapolis 500, and the Ryder Cup. He has also successfully navigated numerous critical incidents.

As a result of his dedicated work, he has received numerous awards. These include the NAACP President’s Award, League of Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Community Leader Award, and he is the recipient of the highest award given by his first employer, the Jefferson Cup.

Mr. Riggs retired from government work in February, 2020.  He is currently serving as a Vice President for Torchy’s Tacos in Austin, Texas. Additionally, he speaks on a variety of topics and offers consulting and training to governments, businesses and non-profits through Pnuema Media, LLC.
