More than five years ago, Strategic Government Resources (SGR) made a commitment to support the Alliance for Innovation (AFI) during a pivotal time in its history. Our goal was never simply to sustain the organization. It was to help position AFI to once again thrive as an independent leader serving local governments.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate that milestone.

AFI has entered an exciting new chapter with its own President/CEO, an independent Board of Directors, and the organizational structure to operate as a stand-alone nonprofit. This achievement reflects years of collaboration, dedication, and shared purpose among the AFI and SGR teams.

While AFI is now operating independently, our partnership remains as strong as ever. SGR will continue supporting AFI through select contractual support services and, more importantly, through a long-term commitment to advancing its mission. As a Strategic Partner of AFI, we look forward to doing our part to continue to create opportunities for local government professionals, with a particular focus on supporting smaller communities and developing emerging leaders, all while advancing the innovation ecosystem.
