Randy Mayeux

Since 2007, Randy has worked with SGR, presenting Executive Book Briefings to city managers, department heads, and other local government leaders.

Randy Mayeux is an Instructor in the Business Leadership Center in the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, where he has received the Teaching Excellence Award multiple times. He is also an Adjunct Speech Professor at Dallas College.

Randy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Abilene Christian University and a Master of Arts degree from Pepperdine University, where he later served as Chairman of the Chancellor’s Council. Randy was also the Chair of the Drug Abuse and Gang Task Force for the City of Long Beach, California. Randy advanced to candidacy for the Ph.D. in Communication (Rhetoric and Public Address) at the University of Southern California. 

He leads the “First Friday Book Synopsis” at the Park City Club, which attracts business professionals from throughout the DFW metroplex. This monthly event, which began in April, 1998, focuses on business books.

He also leads the Urban Engagement Book Club, a monthly event that focuses on books dealing with poverty, homelessness, and other related issues. This book club was under the umbrella of CitySquare, a Dallas-based nonprofit, and is now an independent event. This event has been held monthly since 2006.

Randy delivers more than 400 public presentations annually to various business and government audiences, non-profit groups, and associations, professional conferences, and local retirement communities. Randy has appeared as a guest on numerous local and national radio stations and podcasts, has authored articles in professional journals, guest columns in The Dallas Morning News, and a book on spiritual growth.

A former member of the Board of Directors of the National Speakers Association of North Texas, Randy’s specialties include leadership training, communication skills training and personal productivity topics such as strategic thinking and execution planning, change management, time and project management, stress management, personal development, self-improvement, team and group relationships, and motivation. Randy has worked with organizations including Hunt Oil, Software Spectrum, Tetra Pak, Mary Kay, Cadbury Schweppes, Hilton Hotels, Ericsson, Texas Instruments, L-3 Communications, Resource One, Lapetco, and many others.
