I started SGR decades ago because I recognized the complex challenges local governments were facing. Now, today more than ever, I am keenly aware of how pronounced these challenges are. From navigating rapid technological advancements to responding to the ever-changing needs of communities, the pressures are real and constant. In collaboration with the Alliance for Innovation (AFI), SGR is committed to being a resource for local government leaders as they seek innovative solutions to improve services, engage citizens, and build stronger, more resilient communities. We understand that transformation isn’t easy, but we are here to support local governments every step of the way.

Our partnership with AFI is grounded in a shared belief that innovation is essential to addressing the evolving needs of communities. It’s not just about adopting new tools or technologies—it’s about rethinking the way services are delivered, ensuring that they are more efficient, accessible, and equitable. It’s about having an abundance of resources, connections, and guidance to help local governments navigate these shifts with confidence and creativity, empowering leaders to find solutions that truly make a difference.

As the Transforming Local Government (TLG) Conference is currently underway, we are reminded of the importance of coming together to share experiences, learn from one another, and explore new ideas. This event provides a space for local leaders to reflect on their challenges, celebrate their successes, and engage in meaningful conversations that spark innovative thinking. We look forward to seeing how the insights and relationships formed at TLG will support local governments in navigating the path ahead. Though the conference is completely sold out, we expect to soon be able to report some significant updates that will help our local government friends be more agile and forward-thinking. 

Ultimately, we believe that by working together, we can help local governments unlock new possibilities for growth and transformation.
