Anthony W. Geraci is a 25-year veteran of New York State law enforcement, beginning his
career with the New York City Police Department, retiring from the City of Albany, and most
recently serving as Chief of Police for the City of Newburgh, New York. Over the course of his
career, he has built extensive operational and administrative leadership experience, overseeing
critical functions including patrol operations, investigations, gun violence reduction, policy
development, strategic planning, recruitment, training, and accreditation.
Serving nearly two decades in leadership roles, Anthony has always focused on building
organizational culture with intention—creating environments where people feel supported,
challenged, empowered, and capable of more than they thought possible. His accomplished
career in public service has deepened his commitment to developing the next generation of
leaders, and he is excited to bring his experience and passion to the SGR team.
Parallel to his leadership career, Anthony has spent much of his professional life as an
instructor, director of training, and master trainer across multiple disciplines. He has supported
the development of professionals in areas including supervision, physical training, procedural
justice, active shooter response, organizational behavior, Below 100, ABLE, and crisis
leadership. He has also served as an adjunct professor at both the University at Albany’s
School of Criminal Justice and Columbia-Greene Community College.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master of
Public Administration from Marist College. He is an Executive Fellow of the National Police
Foundation, a graduate of FBI LEEDS Session #80, and an active member of the International
Association of Chiefs of Police and the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police.
Anthony is married to Jacqueline and is the proud father of three children. Outside of work, he
enjoys coaching his daughter’s 12U softball team, skiing at Jiminy Peak (MA) and Killington
(VT), practicing yoga and physical fitness, reading, and spending time with family at the Great
Sacandaga Lake (NY).
