Anthony W. Geraci is a 25-year veteran of New York State law enforcement, beginning his career with the New York City Police Department, retiring from the City of Albany, and most recently serving as Chief of Police for the City of Newburgh, New York. Over the course of his career, he has built extensive operational and administrative leadership experience, overseeing critical functions including patrol operations, investigations, gun violence reduction, policy development, strategic planning, recruitment, training, and accreditation.
Serving nearly two decades in leadership roles, Anthony has always focused on building organizational culture with intention—creating environments where people feel supported, challenged, empowered, and capable of more than they thought possible. His accomplished career in public service has deepened his commitment to developing the next generation of leaders, and he is excited to bring his experience and passion to the SGR team.
Parallel to his leadership career, Anthony has spent much of his professional life as an instructor, director of training, and master trainer across multiple disciplines. He has supported the development of professionals in areas including supervision, physical training, procedural justice, active shooter response, organizational behavior, Below 100, ABLE, and crisis leadership. He has also served as an adjunct professor at both the University at Albany’s School of Criminal Justice and Columbia-Greene Community College.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration from Marist College. He is an Executive Fellow of the National Police Foundation, a graduate of FBI LEEDS Session #80, and an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police.
Anthony is married to Jacqueline and is the proud father of three children. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching his daughter’s 12U softball team, skiing at Jiminy Peak (MA) and Killington (VT), practicing yoga and physical fitness, reading, and spending time with family at the Great Sacandaga Lake (NY).
