Dallas, Texas is a dynamic, fast-growing metropolitan city known for its strong economy, cultural diversity, and high quality of life. As the ninth-largest city in the United States and part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, home to over 7.2 million residents, Dallas serves as a major hub for business, technology, healthcare, and logistics.
The Office of Inspector General serves as an independent investigative authority responsible for identifying, investigating, and resolving misconduct involving fraud, waste, abuse, ethics violations, and corruption. The new Inspector General will report to the City Council.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced member of the Texas Bar with a strong background in investigations, ethics, and public integrity.
Required qualifications include:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. 10–15 years of relevant legal experience in investigations, auditing, or public integrity
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar at the time of application
- Certified Inspector General (CIG)
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience leading, or working with, an Inspector General or similar oversight office
- Background in prosecution and ethics enforcement are a plus
The salary range for this position is $152,977 – $229,466, depending on experience and qualifications.
Residency: The Inspector General shall be a resident of the City of Dallas. If at the time of appointment, the inspector general resides outside the City of Dallas, then he or she shall move into the city within a time period required by the City Council.
