The City of Groveland is a fast-growing Central Florida community known for its natural beauty, strong sense of community, and exceptional recreational opportunities. Located in Lake County approximately 35 miles west of Orlando, Groveland offers residents and visitors access to scenic Lakes, parks, trails, and outdoor recreation while maintaining a welcoming small-town atmosphere.

The City of Groveland operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The City Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer and oversees daily municipal operations under the policy direction of the City Council.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in municipal management, strategic planning, infrastructure development, and organizational leadership within rapidly growing communities.

 

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, Urban Planning, or a closely related field
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in municipal government management, including supervisory and administrative leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in public sector budgeting, strategic planning, infrastructure planning, and organizational management
  • Valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain within ten (10) days of employment

 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, or related field
  • ICMA Credentialed Manager designation
  • Certified Public Manager certification
  • American Planning Association certification
  • Experience managing municipal operations during periods of significant growth and development
