We’re looking for an exceptional communicator and organizational builder who is:
- Experienced in high-growth municipal environments
- Skilled in capital planning, budgeting, and team development
- Adept at working with elected officials, MUDs, and regional partners
- Able to maintain strategic leadership and vision while at the same time functioning in direct roles of economic and community development
Iowa Colony is a rapidly growing community in Brazoria County, Texas, located just south of Houston along the SH 288 corridor with a population of 17,240. Iowa Colony operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The new City Manager will report to the Mayor and City Council.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing growth-driven municipalities and overseeing infrastructure and organizational development.
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Five years of progressively responsible municipal management experience
- Minimum three years in an executive leadership role in local government or similar organization.
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred qualifications include:
- Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) or related field
- ICMA Credentialed Manager designation
- Experience working with Municipal Utility Districts and major planned developments along with the capital projects and financing to support such investments
- Service in high-growth communities
Residency: Residency within the City of Iowa Colony, TX, is required for the City Manager within a reasonable time frame, as agreed upon within the City Council following the start of employment, in accordance with the City Charter.
The City of Iowa Colony offers a competitive salary range of $175,000 to $200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
