 We’re looking for an exceptional, ethical and values-driven collaborative leader who is:

  • Skilled in land use, redevelopment, contracts, litigation, home rule authority under Colorado law and other complex municipal matters

Parker, Colorado, is located in Douglas County approximately 20 miles southeast of downtown Denver and 22 miles from Denver International Airport. Parker combines convenient metropolitan access with an authentic hometown atmosphere.

The Town of Parker is a home-rule municipality operating under a Council-Manager form of government. The Council consists of a Mayor and six Councilmembers. The Town Council appoints the Town Manager, Town Attorney, and Municipal Judge. The Town Manager oversees the Town’s administrative and operational functions, while the Town Attorney provides legal counsel to the Town Council and Mayor.

The Town of Parker seeks an experienced, ethical, decisive, strategic, and values-driven servant leader to serve as its next Town Attorney. 

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Attorney-at-law admitted to practice in Colorado and in good standing with the State of Colorado Bar
  • Minimum of five years of experience practicing law in the field of municipal law in Colorado
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable municipal, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Ability to successfully complete the Town’s pre-employment background process

 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Three years of management and team building experience
  • Municipal legal experience involving economic redevelopment, real estate, construction law, employment law, land use, policing, public information requests, open meetings, and litigation
  • Experience with growth management, code enforcement, public procurement, development agreements, legislative priorities, and public records
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, developing, coaching, and mentoring professional legal staff

 

The salary range for this position is $200,817-$301,225, depending on experience and qualifications.
