SGR Announces Next Chapter for Leadership Development
PublishedStrategic Government Resources (SGR) is excited to announce the next chapter for its Leadership Development practice as longtime President Mike Mowery transitions into retirement from his leadership role in mid-October.
While Mike is stepping away from his role as President, he isn’t leaving SGR. He will continue serving as an SGR facilitator and consultant, working with clients and sharing the experience that has made him such a trusted partner to leaders and organizations throughout his career.

Bringing Leadership Development and Executive Recruitment Together
Moving forward, Leadership Development and Executive Recruitment will come together under the leadership of Rebecca Fleury, President of Executive Recruitment. In addition to her extensive experience in executive recruitment and local government leadership, Rebecca has experience as a facilitator and understands the important role leadership development plays in helping organizations succeed.

Bringing these services together reflects SGR’s commitment to supporting clients beyond a single engagement. An executive recruitment doesn’t end when a leader is placed. Often, that’s the beginning of a new chapter for both the leader and the organization. By more closely connecting Executive Recruitment with Leadership Development, SGR can provide stronger support as leaders step into new roles and organizations navigate what comes next.
Expanding SGR’s Support Through Every Leadership Transition
The approach also complements SGR’s Interim Services, which can provide experienced leadership when an organization has an immediate need or is preparing for a permanent recruitment. Together, these services allow SGR to support clients through leadership transitions and continue the relationship long after a placement is made.
“We’re incredibly grateful for what Mike has built and even more grateful that he’ll continue to be part of SGR,” said SGR CEO Darin Atteberry. “At the same time, we’re excited about what comes next. Rebecca understands our clients, our recruitment work and the value of leadership development. Bringing these areas closer together will help us serve organizations more intentionally throughout their leadership journey.”
SGR looks forward to building on the strong foundation of its Leadership Development practice while continuing to find new ways to connect its expertise and better serve local government organizations across the country.
